sorry for MIA-ing but i am really caught up with a lot of things. last week was like a competition week and i am so glad band got a gold !! yay ! shall talk more about it when i have the pics:) not sure if i can get the pics though, cos they are all taken in diff ppl's digicam. HAHA. but i will try ! for now, i shall bring you the LTC camp !!
group 3 :D
Day 1went to school and report and oh my, there came the first problem. i didnt know the attire was supposed to be pe attire. i actually went there in a triton shirt ! OMG, ca you imagine? the entire school is filled with people in white and blue, yet there i am in
green !! luckily kehui brought her triton ogl shirt, so i just borrowed from her so that i wont look so outstanding among the crowd. LOL. but it turns out that there were some who didnt wear pe and wore house shirts in the end. left shortly after that for LTC at jalan behtera. journey was very long and the guys started singing, which was ..... HAHAHA ! think the weather couldnt take it too, for it started to pour heavily soon after. tears of sorrow ~ lol.
the first activity was this workshop by a speaker. talked to us about the 5 values a leader should have etc etc.

okay, the workshop lasted for really quite a while before we were introduced to our instructors. my grp's instructor's name is funny ! he's call zedong ! like mao zedong ! HAHAHA. so we called him chairman mao throughout our 3 days in the camp ! Lol. we were then brought to our huts to put our belongings down.

we tried discussing about camp stuffs after that but it was not much to an avail cos not everything is with us. the dance steps were supposed to be taught by lynette but she was not around during the first day. and we had only a short period of time for it so not much was achieved at the end. and then it was dinnertime !

we had a makan cheer during the camp and all of us have to say it before we can start having our meals and the cheer goes like this :

after dinner, we had this short singing session where we learnt some songs such as the spongebob C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E-S-O-N-G song and many others ! then we had games about building a stand and tying balloons to it. the game goes like this : you're supposed to allocate some ppl to guard the tripod stand, while the others will be attackers, gng around to attack other ppl's balloons tied to the tripod stands. each attacker will be given a candle and they are supposed to light it at their territory ( there will be a big candle at the base of the stand) and then attack other group's candles. attackers must always be in pairs. a blower in each group will also be allocated, to be in charge of blowing the other attackers' candles. once blown off, the attackers will have to go back to their territory and light up their candles again.

i didnt think we won the game but our spirit was not too bad like how we were still so enthusiastic even though there was once when all our balloons burst. haha. cos the chief jeremy will ask each group how many balloons their group has left so when it came to our turn, we screamed z-e-r-o ZERO ! lol.
after the game, went for supper then bathing time. couldnt get to sleep after that cos hair was wet and i didnt feel like sleeping. so chatted with xueli until 1 plus before we went to sleep zzzzz.
Day 2 ( OMG. I AM REALLY PISSED COS FROM HERE ONWARDS THIS IS MY THIRD TIME TYPING IT. I SHALL PERSEVERE TOWARDS THE END !)
yet another problem arised ! I LOST MY SPORTS SHOES ! i tried looking around but to no avail but because in the morning, my group had to rush for duty and breakfast so i had no time to bother about it yet. after breakfast it was water-rafting which was fun cos i got to learn how to tie ropes through xueli ! thanks mentor ! and our raft was strong too cos when the 21 of us got onto the raft, it didnt capsize at all ! and we came up with a quirky song for it too !!

HAHAHA! funny right? all was fun except for the fact that my shoes and socks were filled with mud. yucks ! will never forget the experience at the muddy beach cos if you stayed at one position for too long, you will find your shoe stuck to the ground and you really need a lot of effort to pull yourself out of that pile of mud. yeeeyur.
i threw my socks away after that cos it was too dirty. washed my shoes too. went back to the hut for campfire preparations and again i couldnt find my shoes in the hut ! i was really disappointed and reported the loss to chairman mao. he said he will check with the other instructors for my shoes and in order not to waste time, we quickly got down to our preparations, starting learning our dancesteps since lynette was back during the second day.
then it was lunch and then abseiling.
didnt manage to abseil cos by the time i went up and waited to be abseiled, another group had arrived which meant that our time was already up. so we had to leave for our campfire preparations yet again.
we were supposed to go for our challenge pole half an hour later but because it started to pour, we had to cancel our challenge pole. what a waste yea? i didnt mind missing abseiling cos i tried it before. but for challenge pole, i wanted to try that! we had to stay indoors so we continued with the preparations. xueli left halfway after that for her tkd grading. she had a hard time calling the cab into the ulu campsite. think the taxi-drivers are really very street-smart to know their way into jalan behtera. haha
it was high elements when the rain ceased.
it was freaky to stand at the piece of log and trying to balance yourself. my legs were wobbly HAHA and i couldnt handle the last hurdle but thanks to encouragement from groupmates and tips from chairman mao, i managed to get pass the obstacle ! yay! a great sense of achievement !
it was the vertical pole challenge after that which was really challenging. evry group is supposed to send a pair of representatives to take part in the challenge. the challenege requires a lot of teamwork cos without it, it would be impossible to complete it unless you are that good as an individual.
we went back to the huts to change after that but instead so , i went around looking for my shoes, hoping to see it near the vicinity. yet it was still to no avail. i started to really feel very moody, having no mood for anything else, and i kept reproaching myself for not keeping my shoes properly, like i should have brought it up to my hut and kept it in the shoe bag. and things did not get any better when i told my parents about it. they even told me to tell the teachers to conduct a bag search cos there weren't any outsiders so if my shoes were to go missing, it should be with one of the mjc-ians.
asked chairman mao again if he has asked the other instructor but he said the other instructor asked his group but couldnt find my shoes. so during dinnertime and even the singing session, i was in no mood at all when everyone else was so hyped up. lots of cheers came out like house cheers, mj cheer then the sing-a-long session. during campfire, it was also no way better. only laughed a little when the instructors were entertaining us and during certain parts of performances during the campfire. my group's performance was a little screwed but overall, it was okay because chief jeremy liked our idea of the different qualities of the ingredients and even wants to use it in his teachings to future leaders ! cool yea?
the campfire ended at 11. bathed, supper then i decided to tell the teachers about the loss of my sports shoes cos i believe if chairman mao were to ask the instructors privately to ask their groups, it wont work at all cos they didnt have much authority compared to the teachers. talked to the teacher and she said she wont conduct a bag search unless a handphone or wallet is lost. but she said she will make an announcement to the cohort the next day to ask if they had seen my shoes. but before that, she told me to search all the huts for my shoes first cos i may be able to find it. so determined to find my shoes, i went searching all 13 huts with shuhui and xueli accompanying me. thank you so much shuhui and xueli. you guys are great ! esp xueli who tried cheering me up from the sing-a-long session to the campfire ! thank you sososo much !
it was dark and we couldnt switch on the lights at the hut too so we had to rely on our camera flashlight so as to be able to scrutinise every single shoe in each hut. it was again to no avail and i tried looking amongst the big piece of grass around my hut and hut 2 hoping to find my shoes and by then , i was already shagged and resigning to fate that i really lost my sports shoe. i was so tired cos day 2 was already filled with a lot of activities, so at 2 plus, i decided to turn in.
Day 3surprise surprise !! early in the morning guess what i saw ! I SAW MY SPORTS SHOES !! i was really shocked ! literally SHOCKED ! cos since day 2 , i have been looking at the ground for signs of my shoes but just no news of it. and all of a sudden just to see it again on the last day, i was really surprised ! but of course happy ! because that meant that i need not wear that dirty and soaked pair of shoes of mine ! it turned out that samantha had taken my shoe by accident. in fact, since day 2 i have been asking around to see if any saw my shoes. at that time samantha shook her head and replied that she didnt see my shoes at all. but it doesnt matter anymore now, at least i found it in the end so that was a relief !!
last day was slack, just clearing up of huts for my group and the second round of workshop before it was back to mjc. all was not over when i went back to mjc for it was time to go for band !!! HAHA, i felt like a superwoman ! i didnt want to go initially cos i was thinking if i still could not find my shoes, i would have no mood to go for band. but i found my shoes ! so of course i had the mood to go for band ! ms sia even thanked us for coming for band despite us feeling very tired ! haha.
so all in all, lots of obstacles to overcome before the camp (shirt), during the camp(shoes) and even after the camp ! (typing this blogpost !) this is called
CHALLENGING THE PROCESS ! lol.
