EDITED!

I've decided to edit this post cos I thought I should be more specific to show how important/great/fun 2008 had been for me. I think 2008 was simply one of the best years I've ever had! There were so many firsts that happened in my life and it was great!

1. First time I entered jc with no fixed classroom where all of us had to move around the school after each lecture/tutorial.

2. First time having a large scale orientation like MMM where we had to run round Singapore to play games!

3. First time I joined band where I had one whole part to myself and no shifting of seats after playing each song.

4. First time I ever used a cup mute/plunger (HAHAHAHA!) for trombone playing.

5. First time I performed as an alumni for Variants IV.

6. First time performing at the Botanic Gardens for band performance.

7. First time having an exchange with Japanese musicians.

8. First time joining a Sudoku competition.

9. First time going to Japan and whatmore for an exchange!

10. First time playing golf for pe elective.

11. First time doing a massive whole year project work on fish therapy.

12. First time studying economics.

13. First time sadly to say that I've flopped so many subjects :(

There were so many firsts in my life in 2008. There were time of fun and times of sadness. But 2009 has come and it's time to move on and I hope it will be a much better year ahead(:

It's the last day of 2008! And most probably I should be down to Marina Barrage for countdown this year!

Looking back at 2008, it has certainly brought back numerous memories. From the time when I entered junior college, so many things have happened and I've had a lot of fun. From orientations to camps to band performances and even the recent Japan trip! There was so much fun in jc, well except for the fact that I really really have to pull up my socks for the upcoming year as I predict it will be a tough ride ahead. But all will be good when it's over(:

And of course not forgetting the first ever Sudoku competition I've joined this year. It was extremely memorable as I had never expected myself to go that far. Hopefully, I can go even further next year when the competition is on again! Get a trophy and win more moneyyyy!!!

A lot of new friends have been made despite the fact that there were many chung cheng-ians around in mj. But believe it or not, I actually do make new chung cheng friends in mj. How weird is that! Lol. Maybe chung cheng is rly that big. And I like mjband a lot. Because most of my new friends are made from there and they are a bunch of hilarious people! Our favourite hobby? CAMWHORING!! haha! Well pictures are good actually as they provide you with memories of the past and I'm sure they are all happy ones(:

Which is why I feel I must do well for my MBT next year because I wanna participate in the last major event we will have next year. The SYF.

Another believe it or not. I actually watched a record of 14 movies this year, which is quite a feat. My highest record I believe. Okay the number may not be very outstanding for movie-goers but to me it does! Because fyi, I only watched a pathetic 2 movies last year. Oh, and this 14 movies is not inclusive of the 2 I've watched on the plane gng and coming back from Japan! o.O

I went to DHS band concert ytd !

Well the concert was not too bad. They played pieces like phantom and and DEEP PURPLE MEDLEY!!! I was so excited when they played this song! But it was not the entire band playing, only a few sections. I personally preferred the Meiden's version though heh.

The people playing deep purple medley

The harpist. I never know you have to tilt the harp to play it! I thought all you had to do is to just reach out your hands for it and pluck the strings lol. You can't blame me okay haha cos I hardly get to see a harpist during a band concert idk why.

The bass trombonist was very loud during the concert! Can hear him so clearly!
But he puff a lot hahahahaha.(the one on the right and it was the best i could take of him)

And one funny thing! There was one time during a song I heard the drumset but I couldn't locate where the drumset was! So kaiyi and me kept searching the stage for the drumset and kaiyi finally saw it!

Can see?

Is this clearer? HAHAHAHAHA!

So poor thing right! Got hidden by the trumpeter in front. Cannot recognise her talent leh hahahahahha.

Then it was intermission. And Tricia, Kaiyi and me went to meet up with the performer whom we have gone down to support!!

Candice!

Group shot(:

You know usually after a concert, people will always say 'encore!' that kind of thing? And usually there will always be a suspense before the conductor comes out right? For this concert, we only said encore like 2, 3 times then the conductor came out alrdy! Haha!

They self-played 'Stand by me' and a Hokkien song which i don't know what is it without the conductor after the encore before the concert officially ended.

And then it was supper time where I bought my ice-cream and tricia 'da-pao' back and kaiyi bought her pancake. Guess we are gna meet up again sometime next year(:

Hey I'm back again!

Hahaha I was just thinking Christmas is here, how could I leave this blog without any pictures of christmas trees? So tada!

Many many christmas trees, out of which about half are from Japan, half from Singapore. And there are 2 exact same trees there just that it looks different during daytime and nighttime (hint is quite obvious right) Haha!

And oh, I love this picture a lot!

It looks nice, ain't it? The background looks so fake like it was some wallpaper for us to take pictures with hahaha. But it's so pretty!!!!

HOHOHO!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry christmas everybody! This year was spent with my family, which I thought was special. It was nothing much though, just a simple dinner, watching the lightings at Orchard road and then home sweet home. Nonetheless, it was still great because afterall, it's my first time celebrating with only my family for christmas!

As far as I can rmb, I've been gng to my aunty's place every christmas except for the last 2 years where I've been celebrating with the trombonists. And everytime when I'm at my aunty's place, it's pretty er.. boring? yeah like it's the festive season I should be hyped up and all that.. but the place is full of adults as in those ppl there are like at least 12 years my senior. or if not there will be kids who are too small for me to talk to. So everytime I go there, it's just not very fun actually except the unwrapping gifts session(:

This year's celebrations made me feel torn a little though. My aunt didnt celebrate xmas this year for the second time so i was free to choose who i wanna celebrate with. As usual, there was the trombonist xmas gathering. but my class also wanted a celebration and my parents want a mini celebration too since we are not gng down to my aunty's place. it was rly tough for me but of course i opted to celebrate with my parents in the end(:

And hooray, I've done some shopping at cotton on too! So happy!

Day 9

Overall, Japan trip was indeed fun and I enjoyed myself a lot! Food is great, people are nice and the scenery is beautiful! I do wish to go down to Disneyland again. There were too many people that time! And with time constraint, I could not venture to all the shops and play all the rides. Oh, and I want to go Disneysea too if I'm gng to Japan the next time! :D

Meiden. Meridian. Moichido Part III! Day 3

Breakfast in the morning! (donuts inside haha)

Shopping in the morning!

we look like twins here!

Afterwhich, put down our stuffs, picked up our present for Meiden which we spent a whole night doing the day before, and off we go to Meiden!

The present for Meiden trombonists!

Meiden trombonists brought us for a walk at a park near their school

Kawaii Aki!

Aki playing with all the maple leaves!

Airi and Michi playing at the playground

Meiden Meridian trombonists!

We passed them their present too!

Cute japanese child we saw at the park

In return, they bought each of us snacks too!

Went back and we played games like king kong kang kong and the 'seh no' game. And we introduced them the chop chilli chop game hahaha

Jannah picked up this :O maple leaf!

Our first dinner provided by Meiden.

The Japanese can really eat! Within minutes, all the guys, even the girls swept the entire bowl clean! Not a single grain of rice is left! I felt so stressed eating, and I even had to swallow all the onions which I don't like so as to keep the bowl clean and empty at the end. Lol.

Played a few more rounds of games and we went back to Ryokan.

Vanilla ice-cream! It's yummy!

Pardon the messy room haha. We were trying to pack our luggage since we had to leave for Tokyo soon then haha.

And tada, that marks the end of day 3 !

Hello! I'm here to continue on the Japan trip!

Meiden.Meridian.Moichido Part III Day 2

We went to this mall (I think it's called Osu?) for shopping in the morning.

The hats match with our clothings yea? Lol.

This milk tea is nice(:

We went to a temple after that and took some nice pictures

Peiqi and me continued walking after that and we saw an entire flock of birds on the ground!

But! the birds were scary! I wanted to get closer to the birds but just as I stepped forward the entire flock flew over me and Peiqi! Ohmygosh. Our very first instinct was to squat down and scream! So embarassing! Everyone was looking at us and it happened to us TWICE!

See. The lady in red is also very scared. That lady in red is not me okay lol.

Enough of the birds. So I think we walked to another temple so more pictures of the temple! :D

Went back to Ryokan to put down our stuffs and we left for Meiden. This time on our own, taking the subway there. So it was like from Kamimaezu to Sakae then transfer at Sakae to go to Ikeshita.

On the subway (:

From Ikeshita, it was a 1km walk from the station to the school

Some photos while walking~A lot of cables....

Cute car!

Jap taxis. Fyi all taxi drivers in Japan have to wear a uniform. Cool huh.

Reached Meiden and we had sectionals. Afterwhich, ito sensei conducted us for a while before we went back into our self-practise. Had a mini combined too. Without a conductor LOL.
Mine and Peiqi's cute socks!

And we left in the evening for our dinner! Dinner was near Ikeshita station, at this pasta restaurant.

Jiayun and me

Jolyn and He bei

Jiayun, peiqi and me shared this 2 pastas. Can't rmb what was the first one but the second one is curry pasta and it's not bad!

After dinner, we shopped at some store before buying our breakfast at Mister Donut!

Before I end this post, I shall post up another collage for events of day2 !

Will continue about day 3 in the next post!
