Pictures from cousin's wedding!

Hehe it was my first time attending a wedding and also becoming a bridesmaid, there were so many things to learn from and experience!

Shall start off with the morning first. Usually, the tradition is that before the groom gets to meet his bride, there will be some obstacles faced for him and the best men and these are usually planned by the sisters. The guys rly had it tough haha. Some of the obstacles included dancing to the song 'nobody' and plucking their hair off their legs to fill a paper heart hahahaha. Quite gross but the guys were sporting so it was pretty cool!

The next obstacle was the eating part. Haha there was 'suan tian ku la' (sour sweet bitter spicy) cos when a couple is married, they have to go through everything tgr, be it the good times or bad? yeah, so 'suan tian ku la' is describing sth like that.. So for that, the guys had to try all 4 flavour types of food hahahaha. Sour was for them to pop 5 sour sweets at one go. Sweet was some indian delicacy, bitter was to swallow one teaspoon of coffee powder lol and the spicy one...

is this! Crackers with wasabi!
The expression on their faces is a proof of how spicy that wasabi was hahahha

Anyway, after this obstacle, the groom sang a song and wrote a love declaration which was rejected a few times hahaha before he got to receive his bride! so many obstacles to go through huh. haha but i guess it was all worth it to get the bride!

Pictures galore ahead!

Exchange of rings

Change of clothes in preparation for tea ceremony!

Ahma looked so happy haha!

A beaming mother receiving her kisses from the bridal couple.

Candid shot- caught eating at the same time!

At night

 I look....very stiff hahahaha

Yum.............Seng!

Not a lot of photos for this night, but its okay cos there was a second wedding dinner held in Penang a few days later! Took budget flight for the first time and its not too bad actually. Can consider taking it for short haul flights, save $$! Hahaha.

We were flying above the clouds!

As soon as we touched down, we went to the hotel to check in first since it was quite late alrdy. Went into my room and...

I actually got frightened by this

Hahahaha cos I was pretty excited when I entered the room (it's a suite, very big!) and I wanted to see the scenery outside since our room was at a high level (28th storey) but once I drew the curtain, the first thing I saw was my own reflection and I got a shock of my life!

And the best part is, my mum also had the same experience in her room! Lol, great minds think alike?
But anyway, the pic above is just for pose, to show you all the reflection only lol.

The bathtub has the jacuzzi function too! And I tried for the first time, foam bath! Hehe, it was so pampering, soaking yourself in the bathtub full of foam, like those ppl on TV, playing with the foam and everything haha!

Sea view from my mum's room!

I can see only part of the sea like this from my room but at least I can see sunrise every morning! :)

We went for food hunt the next day and the food there is good, esp the char kway teow! Haha, we ate a lot of that during our trip there!

Some coffee shops there still use this traditional stove to boil their coffee, cool huh. You won't see this in Singapore man.

Next day was the wedding!

There was a church ceremony in the morning, and being the bridesmaid, I had to walk down the aisle first.

I was so nervous during the walk cos we only had 1 rehearsal and during that rehearsal, I was using my slippers to practice! So scary to walk on heels and with everybody's gaze on you. I was 'ahh'-ing to myself as I walked lol! I still rmb the first time when I practiced the walk down the aisle, I was teased for walking too fast and shaking my hands too much, as if I was marching! Hahaha. And I will also never forget how my cheek muscles tremble as I struggle to smile when practicing the walk down the aisle haha, a truly memorable experience!

Ballroom dinner at night.
The venue was bigger and grander compared to Singapore's

and there was also a string quartet present to entertain us when we are eating!

I used to think that these multiple layers of cake are real. It's only now that I realised that the top layers are all fake except for the bottom layer. But it looks very real on the whole yea?

Spotlight and flashes

Pouring the champagne.
It's apple juice actually, guess you can tell from the colour haha. But in Singapore, we had champagne..its either the hotel ran out of champagne or we were under budget HAHAHA.

And this marks the end of the wedding dinner. We had a day's rest after that and used the opportunity to explore Penang further, visiting some tourist attractions etc.

We went to Penang hill and took a few pics there. Scenery shots there are not too bad.
The trail up the penang hill

The clouds are so pretty!

Last pic of the day:  roadside stalls.
You wont find this in Singapore anymore too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINYI AND DESMOND!!

You guys are finally legal!

It was a double birthday surprise for them haha. Vaish and me planned that when we opened the door of Desmond's house (I was with Des in his hse and Vaish and Sinyi were outside), they will wish each other happy birthday and get a surprise! Hahaha. It was quite tough planning cos I kept leaking the cat out of the bag a few times, such a spoiler haha. Luckily, they always didn't catch what I say so the surprise remains a surprise! :D

But Des is not a fun person to trick haha. He alrdy guessed that we would celebrate for him too when Vaish and me lied to him initially that we are only celebrating for Sinyi, so thick-skinned hor? No wonder the last time when we met up to buy the cake for Sinyi, he kept saying "Oh, I don't like coffee.. I also don't like fruits..." Tsk. Only Sinyi was truly surprised haha.

But the surprise was not entirely over yet! Heehee. Vaish and me alrdy foreseen that by the time Sinyi and Desmond wished each other happy birthday with the flame still burning in the candles, the candles would have melted so we bought RELIGHTABLE CANDLES to trick them! Hahaha.

We thought we could trick them but the candles gave itself away when sparks starting flying out from the candles as we light them. So spoiler can. I don't rmb seeing such sparks too when the trombone section surprised me with that the last time I celebrated my birthday. And then Sinyi said "these candles are those that cannot blow off is it?" Aiyo, our secret exposed! Haha but we continued to cover up, and divert their attention away from the candles.

They eventually knew though, when they realised the flame rekindled after blowing. I must say, the candles are rly lasting lol. The flame continued to flicker even when the candle was at its shortest. At one point, Vaish had to use the knife to out off the flame! Haha. And there was a lot of smoke! Which explains the smoky effect on the pictures haha. Oh yeah, and Sinyi's happy birthday sign caught fire as they attempt to blow off the candles hahahaha.

Blow candles blow

Sinyi suspecting...

The flame won't extinguish! hahaha

Desmond resorts to fanning away the flame hahahaha

Desmond still very enthusiastic in blowing away the candles hehe

Eventually the flames did extinguish, after much effort in blowing haha.
(digress) anyway, I just want to add on that Vaish and me got cheated of our relightable candles!!! We bought at a price of $2.20 per packet, only to realise that west plaza sells it at a cheaper price!! And it's MUCH MUCH CHEAPER CAN?!
they are selling at $1 per packet!!!

$1!!!

We paid more than 120% of the price can?! Hahaha sorry for being such an auntie, but I just can't stand it when I realised I could have saved $1.20 per packet grr.

Cake-cutting!

We avoided eating the first layer for both cakes cos it must have contained too much of saliva! hahaha.

Exchange of gifts.

Their gifts :)
They made a card for each other lol!

Meet up in January!!
In the meantime, Bon voyage and have a safe trip Sinyi and Vaish! :D

Kiongy

Haha, the twitter post was supposed to be like below but it's not as nice as the above one right. Haha! I went to Atiqah's blog and saw that hers was nicer so I did the same thing too! This is quite fun! And you can post your entries on facebook too! The best thing is, you don't have to use the internet! Good for me to stay away from the ever-so-tempting laptop. Haha, but who knows, I may still be online checking ivle (lol), my mail or watching videos (NOOOOOO!)

    follow me on Twitter

If I were some rich tai tai in America, I would just go to Warner Bros Studio everyday to watch the Ellen DeGeneres show cos the prizes to be won (if you're selected) is simply tooooooo attractive!!!

And I'm sorry to Vaish, Sinyi and those who tried to watch the non-kiss video below cos somehow it got copyrighted but if you have SCV, go watch the telecast on MTV channel. Think it's gonna be telecast today! (according to vaish) Haha.

NEW MOON TRAILER!! MUST WATCH!! :D

And this is the HOTTEST NON-KISS I've ever seen hahahahaha

    Monday, June 01, 2009

My mum and I bought these, all at a price of $2.50!!

Unbelievable right?! But you have to believe it cos its true!!! Hahahaha

Okay, not like I got some treat from anybody but it was family day last Saturday and my mum got a lot of free coupons which included many many $3 food coupons, adding up to about $60? Haha! So we splurge it all for our lunch and dinner, with the remaining $2.50 to be paid ourselves! The picture above shows our dinner for that day! Very sumptuous right. But of course we didn't finish all the cookies. Still got a lot in the kitchen haha.

My dad didn't join us cos of work commitments so we went there on our own and it was super crowded! Took part in some lucky draw and I'm always not lucky at all. I always get all the cheapskate stuffs while my mum would always get what she wanted. Got to play cup-stacking game and it was very fun!!

I WANT TO BUY THOSE CUPS AND PRACTISE AT HOME!! :D and hopefully become a pro at it! Yay!

    -----

Watched Camp Rock yesterday! I thought it was pretty mundane at first with all that bimbo sessions until Mitchie and Shane started singing! The songs are always the nicest part of all these disney shows! I think Shane (Joe Jonas) is good-looking while the rest of the Jonas Brothers were pretty amusing, with their non-stop bickering during their short air-time in the show. Demi Lovata looks very sweet too! Better than Tes omg. Why must there be always some bimbo blondes in every dsiney show? Lol.

    Starstruck!

Haha lately I have been very obsessed with stars! I was not very interested in AI at first until the top 3 performance where Kris Allen's rendition of 'Heartless' captured me. Woah his rendition of that song is rly great though I have not heard the original one yet lol! But i heard many said that the 2 versions are very different so yeap. And Randy prefered Kris's version! Yay. And then came the finals where his 'Aint No Sunshine' sounded so pitch perfect! Spectacular!

I wiki-ed him and realised that he has got so much more talent, knowing how to play the viola as well as the ukelele. He's also a business major, a church worship leader who goes to many countries for missionary work and also married! His life of 23 years so far seem so fufilling! He even self-released an album in 2007! So pro right. That's why I admire him a lot, but maybe not the married part haha cos he's like so young only.

Boys over flowers is also a very nice show to watch!! Thank god there's still this show for me to look forward to every sat since AI has ended. Pretty entertaining with many good-looking stars! I like both the violinist and the potterist(?) Haha, the one who does all the pottery la! It never fails to make me laugh every episode, for now. Haha, I dont know if it will become draggy later cos all korean shows seem to be like that but for now, it's still the beginning so it's nice to watch! If you haven't watch, you should try watching it. I'm sure you will like it!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAN!
8 years of friendship and still counting! :D Think you should have received your present from Tricia and me by now. Hope you like it! We spent some time roaming round shopping malls to get the most ideal present for you, you know. Hahahaha. Have a great day ahead!

    Finally, tmr it's VAISH's birthday!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAISH!!

Wasn't our surprise great today? Haha. At least you didn't manage to suspect anything out of sinyi "shitting", me trying to delay time while sinyi and xingying were preparing to surprise you. Haha. One of the best birthday surprise! And you must use the pencilcase we give you on monday okay. Your old pencilbox is so old alrdy haha. Sinyi shall be the odd one out again with no billabong pencilcase!! Hahahahaha. Enjoy your brithday with the econs lecturer tmr! Lol.

    SYF 2009 -GOLD!

So SYF happened on the 6th may and we managed to clinch a gold! It was a remarkable feat for it marks the third consecutive gold in mjcsb history and I think we can get a sustained achievement award!

I rmb us having all the jitters, worrying about our performance and how we would have sounded to the adjudicators, discussing about what weird sound had been produced in the midst of our song. So much tension that we didnt even had the appetite to eat during lunch! Nonetheless, we are glad and relieved that we upholded the reputation of the band so hooray! :D

Despite of the tension, we still took a lot of photos lol!

This was when we were still worried sick. but soon later, we tried to forget about it and started taking more photos!

    Trombones section 09!

all mesmerised by adzizul alrdy lol.

    Norwin's signature pose!

    And this is brasses'09!

Fake brown eyes vs. naturally brown ones

    Lower brasses juniors

    HAHAHAHAHA!

I sort of like this photo a lot!

It feels executive, like we are some businesswomen! and i like the way we lean against each other haha.

    MAY!

Haven't seen her in such a long while! I was so glad she could spot me when she was all the way in front and I was at the back! So happy! Feels like we got chemistry haha! We chatted a bit and I met jin hong and gina and rachel yang too! It was pretty much a sad scene after that and it was awkward because having not seen her for so long and suddenly when we met, things have to happen.. but may you know you did your best! don't worry about the rest!

Trombones section with joel (brenda left)

We went back to school after that and I gave out my syf presents to them!

Nice right! Hahahaha! Although I feel I should have written From Amanda or Amanda haha.

Change out and lower brass went for a celebration dinner!!! We took such a long time figuring where to eat, all because of us laughing at malique's laughter hahahaha! It's so... how should i say it... unique and feels like a lot of air is needed to create that laugh! hahaha. I still can't master it until now! But never mind, I got a recording of his laughter, can always play and listen at anytime! :D

Yet another signature pose-- this time it's Malique's!

And Malique forgot how to use the chopsticks all of a sudden and hahaha he had some trouble picking up food esp his ever slippery udon!

YES FINALLY! he got some food into his mouth! hahahah!

HAHAHAHAHA at geraldine! look at the before when there was not much food and after where all the food came piling up at her! lol! her way of ordering was very simple, whatever we order, she will just go '' 1 more 1 more!" hahaha then the 1 more 1 more became A LOT MORE! hahahahaha

Look at the amount of food!

We ate till we were rly bloated!

In the end, geraldine came up with this cheaterbug way of placing all her udon and cha soba into the container for putting cha soba sauce! hahaha. next time the waiter should take away the container to prevent ppl like geraldine cheating to avoid the wastage fee! hahahah

but oh well, I've got to admit i'm no way better. Haha. Cos I couldn't finish my food either so I resort to my old trick of stuffing sushi rice in between the stack of plates which we have piled up. Hahaha, my usual 'trick' lol.

But hey, the second trick of mashing all the food into the bowl as seen above was not done by me! Haha, I think it was done by geraldine? We are so gng to be blacklisted by hei sushi lol.

Nonetheless, we still managed to finish all the food okay. Hahaha good job to us!

And this was how we reacted before and after the meal. I guess I can only put the "I love food" in the 'before' picture. haha!

In conclusion, it was a great experience to be with them for the dinner. And I'm so glad to have met all my juniors and lower brass batchmates esp malique who brought so much laughter to us with his weird laughter that kitmeng even thought that came from some streetfighter game! HAHA!

CRAP. i spent so much time doing the online chem quiz and end up only with 8/20. damn. and its gonna constitute 5% of our next lecture test mark. great.

but i think i can only blame myself cos half the time i dont know what i was e-learning about. i felt so tired since the weekend. it feels like i'm not in earth, but at some lala land.

oh gosh. this is crap. i still cant accept the fact that i spent so much time flipping the lecture notes here and there only to get a pathetic 8. thanks ah.

i'm shagged. and i still have 1 more case study and 1 more essay plus chem tut. HOW TO FINISH?!
